Types of
Membership
- Contractor
Membership -
A contractor is any person, firm, partnership, joint
venture, corporation or entity who or which may or may not act as a prime
contractor, but does undertake work on a project in part or whole using its
own job site work force. A contractor member performs work on construction
sites under a contract or subcontract.
- Multiple
Entity Membership -
A multiple entity is a group of two or more
contracting firms each of which is commonly owned, controlled or capable of
being controlled by another or by a third party corporate body (holding
company). Individual companies comprising the multiple entity membership
shall meet the definitions contained in "Contractor Membership"
above. The multiple entity membership shall be available to the respective
companies at their option, however, if the multiple entity membership is
elected, all contractor entities of the company that are active in the state
must be participatory in the membership.
- Emerging
Contractor Membership -
An emerging contractor status may be issued
to a person or entity for a period of two years in order to develop
qualified members and to provide better contact with prospective members.
Emerging contractor members in this Association may be reclassified as
Contractors under the rules prescribed by the bylaws or by the Association
Board of Directors.
- Associate
Membership -
An associate member is defined to be any person, firm,
partnership, joint venture or corporation who is a supplier or a
manufacturer of supplies, insurance, finance, bonds, or equipment or other
property or that is engaged in rendering a service to the
Heavy-Highway-Municipal-Utility construction industry in Colorado or
deriving a benefit there from. Whenever services are provided on a
construction project site, those services are provided under a purchase
order arrangement. Any such firm who or which has common ownership with
another firm who or which is qualified to be a contractor, or producer
member shall not be eligible for associate membership in the Association
unless said qualified company is and remains a contractor or producer
member. No multiple entity member of a producer member, labor organization,
unit of any government nor representatives thereof shall be eligible.
