Crisis Management
Speaker:
Bill Ray
We all know that crises happen. We work hard to avoid them
through training, safety and other measures. But no matter your business, one
day you will confront a situation that could threaten the safety of people
and/or property, seriously interrupt business operations, or significantly
damage your reputation. And all of these situations could negatively impact the
bottom line. Managing a crisis quickly, calmly and effectively is critical—and
how you communicate during that time is often one of the key factors toward
successfully emerging from the crisis. Crisis communications depend on clear,
concise and honest messages delivered to multiple audiences, including
customers, employees, public safety, government officials, and the general
public. This session will take a look at several steps to prepare to respond to
a crisis and then how to quickly rollout a communications plan.
Reconstructing Your Personal Work Life Balance
Speaker:
Jodi Holstein
Work-life balance is defined as “the comfortable state of
equilibrium achieved between employment position and private lifestyle.” Sounds
simple enough… right? Just be home by 5PM, available for all needs of children,
and attentive to your spouse, while taking care of aging parents, participating
in a community organization, and paying the mortgage. Is there any wonder why so
many fail to achieve work-life balance?
Is it possible that work-life balance actually can’t be
universally defined?
In this session attendees will engage in thought that
allows them to take themselves off the hook and stop measuring their balance
against their neighbor, start setting new boundaries and defining new
expectations, and implement some measures that can squeeze more time out of a
day.

by flat or inclined surfaces that are controlled by technology such as
Cross-Slope sensors, Laser systems and Sonic Tracers. 3D is defined as machines
controlled by a Digital surface that has complex structure such as a road or an
over-lot grading job. The Technology that controls these machines is GPS or
Robotic Total stations. Both types of technology have their time and place of
use. We will discuss the need for both types and explain when and where you
would use one or the other or a combination of both. Also, we will discuss how
to use both and the things to think about when considering the Machine Control.
