Registration & Expo

Expo’s are an expensive investment and we understand that. Between the booth display, staff time out of the office and giveaway items, it will cost a lot more than $1000 to participate. We’ve identified a few ways to help increase your ROI.  You will receive a complete registration list on January 22nd before the conference. This will give you a chance to prepare for your audience by identifying potential leads. It also allows you to identify current clients you want to be sure to thank for continued support. Additionally, you will receive a complete list of attendees within two weeks of the Conference wrap up. Check out the expo best practices page for more helpful ideas.

If a week is just not enough time to do your research, we are happy to send a list of last year’s attendees upon your request. For the 2017 list, e-mail Kelly at klehto@ccainfo.org.

Each booth will also receive a customized street sign, sponsored by Colorado Barricade!

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Proactive Conflict Resolution

Gene Commander

Despite best intentions on both sides, many contractors continue to report an increase in challenges on public works projects.  Whether it is inexperienced field personnel who are inadequately supported, or capable field personnel who are not empowered to make decisions, contractors find themselves facing potential disputes on a more frequent basis.  Calling upon his extensive experience, Gene Commander makes the case for adopting a culture of proactive dispute resolution.  Contractors can bring leadership to projects by anticipating and preparing for issues – and by recognizing the limits placed on public works personnel in saying yes to a fair resolution.  Gene will share his thoughts about how contractors can work towards resolution without third parties – and to also recognize when bringing in an outsider may be the best way for taking away any lingering excuses that are blocking a final resolution of the problem.

2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Just Say It! Making Any Conversation Easy

Shari Harley
Whether it’s on the job site or in the office, receiving negative feedback is hard. As leaders, giving negative feedback can be even harder. By not giving feedback leaders set themselves and their employees up for failure, turnover and accidents. In this session Shari will share a simple formula to make even the most difficult conversations easier. You can expect to walk away with the skills to say what you want to say, when you want to say it, in a way that people can hear you and take action.
