CCA and CIC 527 Schedules Sessions Offering Quick Petition Training
CCA and its partners in the Construction Industry Coalition
(CIC), have been working with a broad statewide coalition of business,
environmental, tourism and agriculture interests from metropolitan and rural
areas alike to build support for Initiative #153 which would increase the state
sales tax by 0.62% (just over half a penny on a dollar purchase). This would
raise more than $750 million in the first year and more than $1 billion per year
on average over 20 years to rebuild our aging, overcrowded transportation
system. The funds will be distributed through the protected Highway User Tax
Fund and shared between cities, counties and CDOT. These fund can be used only
for transportation projects and services.
In order for Initiative #153 to make it on the ballot, we
must collect and submit the required number of certified signatures from
registered Colorado voters to the Colorado Secretary of State by August 15.
That’s where you can help!
Please join us for 1 of 2 events to learn more about the
transportation funding ballot initiative and how you can help by collecting
signatures. The Lets Go, Colorado campaign team will be at the CCA office to
explain the process. By collecting signatures from your co-workers, colleagues,
friends and family you will become an important part of not only getting the
initiative on the ballot for a vote, but also helping to educate those around
you about why this is so important.
To learn more about the initiative read the Lets Go
Colorado fact sheet here.
