Training Course for Traffic Control Supervisors
This course is designed to give participants state-of-the-art knowledge of the entire process of planning, designing, installing, maintaining, and monitoring traffic control for work zones. Anyone responsible for any phase of construction and maintenance operations cannot afford to miss this training. These principles applied to your maintenance and construction operations can save your organization many times to the cost of the course by helping you avoid tort claims and liability judgments. This short course is a basic requirement essential to all persons involved in street and highway work.
Costs
Cost includes tuition, a comprehensive manual, additional reference materials, lunches, refreshments & CERTIFICATION FEE. The cost per person for this 2-day, 16-hour course is:
- $ 275 - CCA Members
- $ 300 - Public Officials (cities, counties and all government officials)
- $ 400 - Non-CCA Members
Certification
This program was designed to comply with the Colorado Department of Transportation Standard Specification 630.09. Certification is a process separate from the training program and attendance at the course, DOES NOT automatically result in one be certified as a Traffic Control Supervisor. Upon satisfactory completion of this course, attendees will receive a Certificate of completion.
Attendance
To become certified as a Traffic Control Supervisor, the applicant must have at least 2,000 hours of satisfactory experience, related to work zone traffic control, during which the applicant has demonstrated his/her ability to work safely in work zones within the last 2 years.
The applicant must designate the person(s) who will complete their Certification form. The only people who are approved to receive, complete and sign the certification form are owners of traffic control companies, a supervisor of a road and bridge department and/or highway engineer who works for a state, federal, city or county transportation agency. The signature of the person who signs this form must be witnessed by a notary public. CCA-TCS cards are good for three years.
Virtual Class Requirements
To attend this training class, attendees are required to have:
- A stable high-speed internet connection,
- Zoom installed. Please create a free account.
- A computer with a functional web camera,
- A valid email address (personal or work). It will be used to gain access to both the class, the exam and to provide any technical assistance that may be needed.
- Microphone access on your computer or you may also join audio by phone. Please be mindful of battery life if you will be using a laptop or if you will be using a cell phone to join audio by phone!
Please note – attendees CANNOT attend the virtual class using only a smart phone. A multi-window interface is required, and a smart phone will not facilitate what is needed.
You are registered for this class date only. If you cannot attend, please let Kelly, klehto@ccainfo.org know. You cannot attend another class date unless other arrangements have been made.
